SUGAR HISTORY Producing sugar from sugarcane is an Indian invention. since Vedic times, Indians are producing sugar. In Sanskrit sugar is called " Syakarab" , in Arabic it is known as " shaker ", in Latin it is called " sacrum " in German it is called " Zucker " in French it is "Sucre " in English it had become as sugar. Thus India's Syakarah had finally become sugar (this is because overworld was ruled by England thus it named as sugar) Greeks had first come to know from Indians the usage of sugar.
